The Challenge

Persian Basket needed to serve customers with different levels of familiarity with Persian cuisine while accommodating prepared meals, specialty groceries, and a rotating weekly menu.

The challenge extended beyond product discovery. Customers needed to understand unfamiliar dishes, identify current availability, and navigate between distinct shopping intentions without losing their place.

My Role & Strategic Response

I designed the mobile shopping experience, translating the business’s offering and cultural identity into a structured customer journey.

My strategy was to separate shopping intentions while maintaining one recognizable brand experience. Returning customers needed direct access; unfamiliar customers needed context at the point of selection.

Design Resolution

I established distinct entry points for prepared meals and groceries, with a dedicated destination for the weekly menu. Photography and descriptive content introduce unfamiliar dishes, while consistent product cards and basket interactions connect exploration with ordering.

The visual system combines burgundy, food imagery, and Persian-inspired details. These elements preserve the brand’s identity while supporting hierarchy and product understanding.

Outcome

The portfolio prototype demonstrates a coordinated approach to meal discovery, weekly-menu navigation, and grocery shopping. It brings brand expression and functional structure together around a central objective: helping customers understand what they can order and how to proceed.
